We built CityWhy because we lived the problem from both sides.

Brandon has spent more than fifteen years in local government, working on strategy and execution in a legacy Midwestern city fighting its way back from decades of disinvestment. Strong community pride, real momentum, and one persistent gap: no system for turning a strategic plan into executed strategy.

That changed when the city took on a multi-year engagement with retired Procter & Gamble executives, who helped adapt their OGSM methodology to the work of running a city. We simplified it, tested it through hard budget seasons, and called the result the Why-What-How framework.

Krissy has spent her career on the business side of enterprise software, including time at Google, in go-to-market and customer roles, learning what makes software people actually adopt versus software that ships and sits unused. The same problem, from the other direction.

CityWhy is the two of us together. One of us has lived the execution gap firsthand. The other knows how to bring a product to the people who need it and make it stick. CityWhy OS is the tool we wished existed: the platform that turns a strategic plan from a document into a living part of how an organization runs every week. Pulse check-ins that surface trouble before it's a crisis. Meetings that start informed. Dashboards that give leadership real visibility.

We are practitioners first. We facilitate and advise when it helps, but we believe your team is the right group to run your own strategy. The right tools should make that possible.
